IT'S TIME TO PRACTICE!

The Grizzlies will start practicing at the YMCA in Albert Lea every other Saturday afternoon at 5pm starting 1/14/2012.  You must sign in at the front desk at pay $2 cash to attend.  If you are considering playing for the Grizzlies this spring, stop by and check us out.  Appropriate attire is shorts and gym shoes, and mouthguards are recommended as there will be some contact involved.

Practice Dates: 1/14, 1/28, 2/11, 2/25, 3/10, 3/25

Next SPFL League Meeting Scheduled for February 18th 2012.  At that time teams and schedules will be finalized.

Any new rules or rule changes will also be adopted at that time. 

Saturday, October 22nd:  The Albert Lea Grizzlies hosted the North Iowa Bucks in an offseason exhibition game in what both teams were calling the first annual border war.  It was a beautiful sunny Saturday with temps hovering around 60 and very little wind.  It was a perfect day to play the greatest game on earth.  The Grizzlies came out on top scoring 40 points to the Bucks 6 in the first half.  In a running-time second half each team scored another TD making the final score 46-12.  Thank you to all the fans who came out and supported us, thanks to all the players who juggled their schedules to make this game work, thank you to the officials who put together a crew for us very quickly, and finally that you to Jeff Jimenez who agreed to come and announce the game for us with about 2 hrs notice.  Without the support of the community we would not be where we are today.

Thank you to everyone who supported the Grizzlies this season!  We had our best season yet, and while it ended on a sour note, we have a lot of accomplishments to look back on and be proud of.  We improved tremendously as a team this year and we WILL be back next year, bigger, stronger, faster, and HUNGRIER than ever!

Look for the Grizzlies this off-season as we volunteer anound the community coaching youth football and helping improve our community in any way we can.
